Love Your Blues
Poetry, Tea Dance and Blues for Valentine’s Day
Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Community Celebration Fund, Middle Street Resource Centre, Beeston, is able to host a series of traditional seasonal events in 2017.
The next one will be February 18th 2017.
Post New Year and already the Valentine Cards are colouring the shops with garish shades of pink; whether you throw yourself wholeheartedly into it or would rather shrug it off, Middle Street Resource Centre in Beeston, has an imaginative response to the annual heart fest: Love Your Blues.
This free day begins 1pm – 2pm with some shared singing and poetry.
Feel free to bring your favourite Valentine poem or song and join in or make up the audience. Refreshments provided.
3pm – 5pm
there’ll be a tea dance; so get ready to waltz, foxtrot, quick-step and tango and slip along to the tunes. No dancing experience necessary and those three left feet are more than welcome. Dressing up is optional. Come and have some fun. Light refreshments provided.
The day will culminate in a blues-folk evening with local bands.
Turn up at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Snacks and nibbles and [limited] drinks provided; a relaxed, in the round sharing of some brilliant singer-songwriters. Ends 9pm.
