Join tutor Karen Fry at Middle Street Resource Centre and take part in our new gardening course: Great gardening – grow your own on a budget.
Gardening improves health and mental well-being, join us and spend time outside in the fresh air learning more about the ins and outs of gardening. The course will use the derelict raised beds and the area surrounding them at the Resource centre in Beeston. All tools, containers and seeds etc will be provided. Please wear suitable clothing..
Anyone aged over 19 welcome
- Successful seed sowing and aftercare – growing healthy salads and cheerful flowers
- Making the most of small spaces – imaginative containers, hanging baskets and more
- Growing health plants organically – dealing with pests etc
- Taking successful cuttings
This course is taught in a friendly and relaxed way. You will be encouraged to work with your fellow course members and your tutor. Everyone is welcome – the course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
When: Thursday afternoons 1pm-3pm
Start date: the course runs for 11 weeks beginning 3rd March 2016 and ending 26th May 2016
Cost: the course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain means tested benefits or £84.70
A certificate of attendance can be requested by any one who attends 95% of the course sessions.
