Philosophy – Ancient and modern    C2334518

What is real? How should we live? What is the best society? People have always asked ‘big’ questions like these and they still matter to us now. This course is an opportunity to explore these questions with the help of philosophical ideas from the Middle Ages to the emergence of modern thinking in the 17th century. We will look at some answers in key thinkers such as Descartes – but expect to come away with more, and better, questions!
